On Saturday, February 29 we offer an open day to celebrate the Day of the Balearic Islands. As usual, our visitors can enjoy our environment and our collections for free between 10 am and 3 pm.

The day will be enlivened with an activity aimed at families organized by our department of educational activities.

What novelties are we going to find?

The msbb is a space in constant change reflecting our interests and concerns about the world surrounding us. This fact is evident in the newly installed works and in the discourse that has been generated around them.

Climate change, pollution and the disappearance of species are themes that are at the centre of the social debate and as such are reflected in our museum.

What spaces can be visited?

The Aljub space (the cistern) where the collection of portraits of children from the 16th to the 19th centuries is on display. A recent rearrangement of the collection has allowed us to present a series of portraits of Germanic origin. Without a doubt, a wonderful opportunity to revisit the collection.

The Sokrates room, our cabinet of curiosities where you can contemplate works of contemporary artists dialoguing with diverse artefacts, a narwhal fang, the fossil of a Pleistocene rhinoceros ...

The gigantict animal zoo, where new specimens have gathered, and the rose garden.

What is the schedule of the activities?

The exhibition spaces will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During these hours you can visit the spaces mentioned above.

Family activity can be done from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the information point located in the courtyard of the main entrance you can pick up the brochures with the itinerary.

The Animal Mask Workshop does not require previous registration and will take place from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.
